The plot follows Rufus, a young man who lives on the planet Deponia, a place turned into a dumpster where the waste of the richest civilizations in the universe ends up. Tired of his life there, his main goal is to escape and reach Elysium, a floating paradise where the privileged live.

Everything changes when Goal, a mysterious young woman from that world of luxury, literally falls from the sky and ends up in Rufus’ arms. Convinced that she is his chance to leave Deponia, the protagonist decides to help her return home, starting an adventure full of absurd situations, conspiracies, and very peculiar characters.
