It’s been several years since Microsoft officially closed the Xbox retrocompatibility program for new game additions. However, the community continues to demand the project’s revival to recover more classic titles from previous generations.
A new portal focused on video game preservation, Xbox Game Preservation, has recently compiled a list of the most desired games within the retrocompatibility program. The website allows users to vote for the titles they want to see on current Xbox consoles.
The Top 10 Most Requested Games for Xbox Retrocompatibility
According to the votes collected by this platform, these are the titles that generate the most interest among players:
-
The Simpsons: Hit & Run
-
Silent Hill 4: The Room
-
Burnout 3: Takedown
-
Silent Hill 2
-
Jet Set Radio Future
-
Spider-Man: Web of Shadows
-
Sonic Heroes
-
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions
-
Spider-Man 2
-
Blur
In total, over 5,000 votes have been registered, although the most requested game has barely surpassed a hundred supports. This means that the ranking should be taken with caution, as the sample is still small.
- However, the list makes it clear that many players are still interested in recovering classics from the original Xbox, Xbox 360, and other platforms on current consoles.
For now, Microsoft has not announced the reactivation of the retrocompatibility program, but initiatives like this reflect that the demand for preserving and recovering classic games is still very present within the Xbox community.
