Rumors about a new DLC for The Witcher 3 have been circulating for months, but now more solid indications have emerged that point directly to 2026 as the year when the veteran RPG could receive new content again. And this time, the clue doesn’t come from just any insider, but from an official document from CD Projekt RED.
Following the publication of the studio’s latest financial report, several players and analysts have detected a reference that surprisingly matches recent rumors about an additional expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. In the document, CD Projekt mentions “new content described in recent reports” that could be released next year, with a positive impact on revenue in the first part of their incentive plan.
A release that doesn’t fit with their big projects
The key is in the context. CD Projekt RED has several projects in the works, but none of their big games are scheduled for 2026. The Witcher 4, the next Cyberpunk, and the rest of the announced titles are still in early or intermediate development stages, so they don’t match the reference to short-term revenue.
This leaves a fairly clear scenario: additional content, not a full game. And that’s where The Witcher 3 comes back into play, whose supposed DLC has been linked to the universe and events of the fourth chapter of the saga for some time.
An unexpected return, but not impossible
Although The Witcher 3 has already received massive expansions in the past, the idea of a new DLC so many years later seemed unlikely… until now. The game’s sustained success, its constant re-releases, and the transition to the new saga make it an ideal platform for building narrative bridges between stages.
For now, there is no official confirmation, no specific window, and no playable details. But with rumors piling up and a financial document pointing in the same direction, everything suggests that Geralt hasn’t had his last word in 2026.
