Following the announcement of the end of the servers for the latest FIFA, now Electronic Arts has confirmed that another of its most well-known franchises is also preparing to say goodbye to its online version. The Sims Mobile, the free-to-play title available on iOS and Android since 2018, will officially shut down its servers in early 2026.
Over these seven years, the game managed to gather a large community of players thanks to its themed events, free expansions, and social options, but the studio has decided to end its active maintenance due to the progressive decline in users and its current focus on The Sims 4 and the upcoming Project Rene (also known as The Sims 5).
Farewell to The Sims Mobile: date and details of the shutdown
Electronic Arts has announced that the game has already been removed from digital stores, so those who don’t have it in their library will no longer be able to download it. However, players who still have it will be able to continue accessing it until January 20, 2026, when the servers will close permanently.
Before that date, The Sims Mobile will celebrate a series of special farewell events, with exclusive rewards and messages of gratitude from the development team. It will be a way to pay tribute to the community that has kept this installment alive for so many years.
Another farewell in EA’s mobile catalog, which continues to adjust its efforts towards new platforms and towards the imminent future of The Sims.
