Every week, new hints emerge that reinforce the same idea: the pirate adventure that marked an entire generation could be on the verge of being reborn with a much more ambitious proposal. The company has already announced that in its fiscal year, there will be a yet-to-be-announced release, and among the community, the most widespread theory is that this gap belongs to the return of Edward Kenway’s story.
This context is now added to a leak from a French content creator who claims to have seen updated material from the project. Beyond a simple facelift, the news would indicate a significant restructuring that would affect both the gameplay pace and the classic’s own approach from 2013.
A remake with structural changes and technical improvements inspired by AC Shadows
According to this leak, the new Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Remake would completely eliminate sequences set in the modern era and any visible loading screens. It would be a considerable shift from the original design, aimed at offering a more fluid experience focused exclusively on Edward Kenway’s pirate life. The leaker also mentions that Ubisoft would take the opportunity to recover some of the discarded content over a decade ago, with the goal of completing the game’s initial vision.
On the technical side, the remake would take several elements from Assassin’s Creed Shadows as a reference, especially regarding dynamic weather and the open-world setting. It’s said to have a more cinematic atmosphere, a completely revamped interface, and a more detailed map mesh, maintaining the general dimensions of the Caribbean area but improving its legibility and coherence. There would also be more activities, new missions, and an expanded content volume compared to the 2013 version.
If all the leaked information is confirmed, the return would not be a simple remaster, but a deep reinterpretation designed to make Kenway’s adventure shine again in the current generation. Ubisoft, for now, remains silent. But after so many hints, it seems that the tide is starting to rise.
