The arrival of Forza Horizon 6 has been one of the biggest announcements at the Xbox Developer Direct, but alongside the applause, a controversy has emerged that’s hard to ignore. It’s not about the map, the cars, or the technical leap, but about how the pricing of its editions and updates on Xbox Game Pass has been structured.
Many users have taken notice of the cost of the Premium Upgrade Bundle, an option designed for Game Pass players that allows access to all additional content… for a fee. And that’s where the uncomfortable comparisons begin.
Official Prices of Forza Horizon 6 on Xbox and Game Pass
In the Xbox Store in Spain, these are the confirmed prices:
-
Standard Edition – 69.99 €
Included at no extra cost in Xbox Game Pass. -
Deluxe Edition – 99.99 €
Includes the full game, car pass (30 vehicles), and welcome pack. -
Premium Edition – 119.99 €
Adds early access (4 days, starting May 15th), two future expansions, car packs, VIP subscription, and additional content. -
Premium Upgrade Bundle – 59.99 €
Available even for Game Pass users, unlocks the same Premium content without including the base game.
The detail that has generated the most debate is clear: a Game Pass player must pay 59.99 € to access the Premium content, a figure very close to the 69.99 € it costs to buy the game outright. In return, they get early access, cars, and expansions that will arrive later, but not ownership of the title.
For many users, the most logical decision is to play from day one with Game Pass and evaluate later whether the expansions justify the expense. For others, the current approach makes the Premium Upgrade difficult to defend compared to buying the game directly.
