We’ve been discussing the conflict with physical format on Xbox Series for many weeks, and the lack of it in Microsoft’s own games. One of the most notable cases in recent times was that of The Outer Worlds 2. The game was presented for pre-orders in stores as CIAB, meaning it would include a code inside to download the game.

This news had a ripple effect; undoubtedly, it did, because it was also known that the PlayStation 5 version of the game would come on disc, something that was not very normal. Now, finally, it can be said loud and clear that the Premium Edition of The Outer Worlds 2 for Xbox will include a disc and a digital code for the Premium content of that edition.
The Outer Worlds 2: Premium Edition will arrive on disc for Xbox
- Premium Edition – Additional content
- Base game in physical format
- Early access to extra narrative content (to be confirmed)
- Exclusive downloadable content included
- Special collector’s packaging (details pending official confirmation)
The Outer Worlds 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the award-winning first-person sci-fi role-playing game created by Obsidian Entertainment.
In your role as a bold (and probably good-looking) agent of the Earth Administration Council, you will have to discover the origin of devastating fissures that threaten to destroy humanity. Your investigation will take you to Arcadia, the birthplace of the supraluminal accelerator, where the fate of the colony, and ultimately the entire galaxy, will depend on the decisions you make, that is, on your strengths, weaknesses, crew, and the factions you choose to trust.
If everything goes as planned, The Outer Worlds 2 will be available on Xbox and Xbox Game Pass at launch in late October.
