After several days of early access for those who pre-ordered the Premium edition, The Outer Worlds 2 finally arrives today on Xbox Game Pass, marking the return of one of Obsidian’s most beloved sagas. The studio has taken advantage of the release to publish an update 1.0.4.0, aimed at correcting critical errors and adjusting mission progression, interface, and performance.
The game will be available from 6:00 PM (Spanish mainland time) / 11:00 AM (Mexico City) for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers on console, PC, and cloud. A perfect opportunity to embark on a new space adventure filled with acidic humor, moral decisions, and the personality that characterizes Obsidian.
Launch patch for The Outer Worlds 2: key corrections and improvements
The team has thanked the community for their support during the early access phase and has detailed the main changes included in this first patch:
Critical corrections:

Solution to black screen freezes when returning to the Pretor’s landing platform.

Fixes to the Inez event, which now appears correctly in Fairfield.

New beacons and additional guidance in missions like “Telemetry Intensive Course” and “Golden Ridge Monastery”.

The fate of several secondary characters is now shown more clearly.

Improvements to the camera and player positions after conversations with NPCs.
