The folks at Ryu Ga Gotoku have released a new video showcasing some of the exciting features that will be added to the new Virtua Fighter. The video, which was shown at the Tokyo Game Show 2025, gives a sneak peek at some of the new mechanics and gameplay modes that will be included in the title. These updates come months after the last teaser, which was very well received by the community.
The “standard” mechanic will have the same rules we’ve seen in all fighting games, where one opponent must reduce the other’s health bar to zero or knock them out of the ring to win the round or match. In this “standard” match, the winner will be the one who wins the most rounds out of 5.
New Horizons for Virtua Fighter
On the other hand, there’s the “uprising” option, which will incorporate new systems in addition to the traditional features that promise to turn the tide of battle if used correctly, although not many details have been revealed yet.
The new Virtua Fighter will retain the mechanics that made the series popular, with the addition of new features like Break & Rush, Stunner, Stun Combo, and Flow Guard, which will add a fresh twist to the gameplay without straying too far from the original concept of the franchise, which was envisioned by Yu Suzuki in the 90s.
