Crystal Dynamics continues to work on the new installment of the saga, a project that Amazon Games has only revealed is progressing well. With a lack of official information, rumors are once again gaining traction, this time courtesy of V Scooper, a known insider for film leaks who already mentioned this Tomb Raider in 2024. His comments have reignited theories about the scope and focus of the next adventure.
The project still has no release date or approximate window, but the leaker himself claims to have received new information about the setting, the current version of the character, and some playable systems. There’s no leaked gameplay or verified material, but his statements align with the broader and more ambitious tone Crystal Dynamics has been seeking in recent years.
Rumors about the new Tomb Raider: open world, India, and a more experienced Lara
According to V Scooper, the game would be set in an open world inspired by northern India, with areas including deserts, cliffs, dense jungles, and snow-capped mountains. Lara Croft would appear “at the height of her career“, following the trail of the mythical weapons of Ashoka, relics that would grant enormous power to whoever possesses them.
- The insider also mentions a Thief Society as the main antagonists, as well as the presence of independent rivals. Among the new playable features, a ally recruitment system stands out, as well as the ability to give specific orders during missions, non-lethal options, and more “agile and expressive” exploration. There would even be a motorcycle to navigate the map.
V Scooper claims that the project is already in an advanced stage of development, with polishing tasks underway. However, he doesn’t confirm if Crystal Dynamics will showcase it at The Game Awards on December 11, where many fans are hoping for a first appearance.
