The new project from Bloober Team, Cronos: The New Dawn, continues to generate interest as its release approaches in autumn 2025. However, we’ve recently learned that a feature many Xbox players might expect has been left out: the game won’t have a physical edition on Xbox Series, at least at launch.
This information comes directly from Bandai Namco, responsible for retail distribution in Europe, Australia, and the Middle East. Apparently, physical editions will be available for PlayStation 5 and PC, leaving Microsoft’s console out of the physical format. In the United States, the PS5 edition will be distributed by Skybound Games.
Cronos: The New Dawn launches in autumn, but only digitally on Xbox
For now, only the digital availability of Cronos: The New Dawn on Xbox Series has been confirmed, meaning players on this platform will have to resort to the Xbox Store to access the title. It hasn’t been mentioned if this decision is final or if it could change in the future.
The game, which promises a third-person survival horror experience, is one of the most anticipated titles from the Polish studio after their work on Layers of Fear and The Medium. Although the exact release date has yet to be revealed, everything suggests that the official announcement won’t be long in coming, as the release is still set for this autumn. We’ll be keeping an eye on any news about the game’s format or availability on Xbox.
