The countdown to the release of a new game from Xbox Game Studios has begun. The new project from Double Fine, the studio behind Psychonauts 2, will be available on October 17th on Xbox Series, PC, and Steam, and as of today, you can start pre-downloading it on Xbox consoles.
The file size is around 25.43 GB, which is relatively light considering it’s a brand-new, visually stunning adventure. The game is part of the Xbox Game Studios catalog and will have full compatibility with Xbox Game Pass from day one.
A unique adventure from Lee Petty and Double Fine
Keeper is an action-exploration title with a peculiar and recognizable style. In it, you control a living lighthouse that, after centuries of slumber, awakens thanks to the arrival of Twig, a bird with bright colors that encourages it to leave its fixed place and explore the world with stone legs and roots.
The proposal, conceived by Lee Petty (responsible for Stacking and RAD), combines contemplative moments with exploration and light combat in fantastical environments. Its artisanal approach and visual style are reminiscent of the studio’s best years during the Xbox Live Arcade era, with that mix of humor and quirkiness that defines Double Fine.
The studio has confirmed that the game will run at 60 FPS on Xbox Series and will include a dynamic lighting system inspired by the studio’s classics. Xbox Game Pass players can download it in advance right now from the Xbox Store to have it ready on October 17th.
