Jan Hermanowicz is the engineering producer at CD Projekt Red who is working day in and day out to bring to life what will be The Witcher 4. The game is undergoing a monumental development process, not just in terms of the large number of people working on it, but also the cutting-edge technology being employed, with Unreal Engine 5.6 at the forefront.
The creative mind gave an interview with GamesRadar, highlighting the vast possibilities the engine offers to developers, something that will likely be seen in other titles from the Polish developer as well.
A Modernized Witcher
According to Hermanowicz, the more customizable the technology is, the easier it is to develop any type of production, which is already being seen in The Witcher 4’s development timeline. In fact, the developers have revisited Novigrad from The Witcher 3, one of the most demanding areas to navigate due to its density, to compare what couldn’t be done back then with what can be achieved now.
Anxiety isn’t a good companion in this case, considering The Witcher 4 will still be in development for a long time before it lands on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
