The cycle of The Elder Scrolls: Blades comes to an end. Bethesda has confirmed that the free-to-play title will permanently shut down its servers in the coming months, putting an end to a proposal that aimed to bring the essence of the saga to mobile devices.
After several years of being active, the game says goodbye with a decision that doesn’t entirely come as a surprise, but marks the end of an era within the universe of The Elder Scrolls. The date is already set, and players have a limited time to continue accessing all its content.
The Elder Scrolls: Blades will shut down its servers on June 30, 2026
According to Bethesda, the game’s servers will be permanently deactivated on June 30, 2026. Until then, players will be able to continue enjoying the title with normality, although with some significant changes to its internal economy.
From now until the shutdown:
- All in-game store items will cost only 1 gem or 1 seal
- Players will receive an additional package with sufficient resources to unlock almost all the content
- The shutdown will affect both the mobile version and the Nintendo Switch edition, which will also lose access once the servers are turned off.
Originally launched in 2019 in early access, the game opted for a more accessible experience within the universe of The Elder Scrolls, adapting its formula to quick matches and a free-to-play model. Now, after several years of development, Bethesda is putting an end to this chapter, making way for new projects within the franchise.
