It’s been many months since we last heard anything concrete about Marvel’s Blade, one of the most ambitious first-party projects from Xbox and Bethesda. However, as 2025 comes to a close, one of the game’s leads has offered a small but significant update to reassure players.
It was Dinga Bakaba, the project’s creative director, who responded to a user on social media, confirming that development is ongoing and the team is “working hard and pushing themselves to the limit”. That being said, he also asked for patience, making it clear that there’s still a long way to go.
Marvel’s Blade is still in production… and it’s going to be a long haul
Although the update is brief, it serves to confirm something important: Marvel’s Blade is still in active development. Since its official announcement in late 2023, the game has been largely silent, and all indications are that it won’t be arriving anytime soon.
According to the information available so far, the title only recently entered full production, which reinforces the idea that its release is still years away. Therefore, it wouldn’t be realistic to expect major news in 2026, although there’s a possibility that Xbox might mention it again at key events like the Xbox Games Showcase in the summer.
For now, the message is clear: the project is moving forward at a steady pace, without rushing, and with the ambition of becoming a “special” experience, as defined by its own director. A discreet development, but one that continues to generate high expectations within Xbox’s future catalog.
