The leak would affect games, engines and services developed since the 90s.

Ubisoft is facing one of the most severe security incidents in its history. Various technical sources and cybersecurity experts claim that the company has suffered a massive breach of its internal systems, with the exfiltration of terabytes of source code repositories, development tools, SDKs, and online services used over several decades.
Although Ubisoft has not officially confirmed the code theft, the circulating information points to an enormous scope, covering historical and current projects, from titles in the 90s to games in development. Over the past few hours, concern has been growing within the community, especially regarding the possible direct connection between this attack and the recent issues suffered by Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege.
The Attack and How it Happened
According to published data, the attackers would have exploited a critical vulnerability in MongoDB to access internal databases. The attack coincides with the interruption of services and anomalous behavior detected in Rainbow Six Siege between December 27 and 28, 2025, when altered credits, irregularly unlocked objects, and erratic sanctions were reported in multiple accounts.
All this reinforces the hypothesis that Ubisoft’s online infrastructure was deeply compromised, beyond a simple punctual failure.
Why this Leak is Especially Serious
To date, no source code has been publicly released, a detail that avoids immediate consequences. However, the risk is evident:
-
Exploitation of vulnerabilities in current games
-
Development of advanced cheats that are difficult to detect
-
Exposure of proprietary technology key to future releases
Ubisoft remains silent while internally evaluating the actual scope of the incident. If these leaks are confirmed, we would be facing one of the largest information thefts in the video game industry, with potential long-term effects on security, development, and player trust.
