Within the framework of EVO 2025, Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada, discussed the Tekken X Street Fighter project, which, although never officially canceled, is currently considered a dead and buried project. During an interview with Destructoid, Harada referred to the game’s current situation, mentioning that technically it still exists in Bandai Namco’s studios and that he would like to show the public what was developed until 2016, the year in which work was interrupted.
Harada expressed that, although it’s difficult to say if the game will become a reality, it depends on what the public wants, and that it would be good if they could show the material they have.
A dream with difficult resolution
He also mentioned that they had reached 30% of development and that he was crossing his fingers so they could make it happen. This reiterates what has been stated in recent years, namely that Tekken X Street Fighter has never been canceled and that the complete compilation of 30% still exists.
It’s difficult to say if it will ever become a reality, it depends on what the public wants. We had reached 30% of development, so I’m crossing my fingers
Additionally, Harada spoke about the possibility of a new Tekken Tag Tournament, saying that a possible Tekken Tag Tournament 3 wouldn’t make sense today, but doesn’t rule out a return of the Tag mode through other options. This leaves the door open to the possibility that the Tag mode could return in some way in the future.
