After years of rumors, Darksiders 4 is now a reality. THQ Nordic has officially announced the fourth installment of its action and fantasy saga, and it does so with a return to its roots: the story continues exactly where the first Darksiders left off.
This new installment is presented as a third-person action adventure, with combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving, all set in a devastated and mythologically rich version of Earth. Fans had been waiting for a direct sequel that would bring together the Four Horsemen, and now they finally have it.
Darksiders 4: Horsemen, visceral action, and apocalyptic exploration
One of the main pillars will be the ability to choose between the legendary Horsemen of the Apocalypse, each with their own fighting style and characteristic armor. The action will be fast-paced, cinematic, and brutal, with a system that combines melee attacks, supernatural abilities, and fluid movement.
The game also promises vast environments filled with secrets, colossal bosses, and areas to discover, with a narrative that reconnects with the roots of the Darksiders universe. For now, it has not been detailed which Horseman will be playable or if we will be able to switch between several, but the trailer hints at an epic scale and a clear intention to recapture the spirit of the original saga.
Darksiders 4 does not yet have a specific release date, but it will be launched on consoles and PC. It is expected that in the coming weeks, new details will be revealed, including the first gameplay fragments and confirmed platforms. Of course, if there was ever a good time to return to the Apocalypse… it’s now.
