Steam integrates into Xbox app for PC: here you can see what it looks like

Microsoft continues working on unifying experiences for PC gamers, and one of the most intriguing steps has just been activated in its preview phase: integrating Steam games into the Xbox app for PC. As of this week, members of the Xbox Insider program can access this new feature that unifies their digital library.

The system is part of the “Aggregated Game Library” initiative, announced a few days ago, and although it’s still in its early stages, it already shows some advantages for those with titles scattered across different clients outside of Xbox.

Steam on Xbox for PC: First Details and How it Works

According to the first users who have accessed the feature, Steam games are now listed in the Xbox app for PC and can be launched directly from it. However, for now, Steam must be running in the background, as this feature acts as a visual shortcut, not as a standalone platform.

• In this first version, there are still some issues, such as covers not displaying correctly or unrecognized titles, but it’s expected that these details will be polished in the coming weeks. There have also been reports of curious cases, like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 appearing in the library, which demonstrates Microsoft’s multi-platform approach.
• One of the most significant benefits will be for devices like the ROG Ally, which use Windows and where this type of integration can save time and clicks when navigating between platforms like Steam, Epic, or Ubisoft.

To try out this new feature, it’s necessary to join the PC Game Preview within the Xbox Insider program. Its public release is expected soon, although no exact date has been confirmed by Microsoft.
