There’s been a lot of talk over the past few months about the arrival of Silent Hill 2 Remake on Xbox Series. The game was released last year, specifically in October 2024 for PlayStation 5 and PC. Since its announcement, it was known to be a temporary exclusive, so we have to start counting down the days to predict a release window.

We mustn’t forget that we have the new Silent Hill f coming up in September. Specifically, the new installment in the series launches on September 25th on Xbox. The exclusivity of Silent Hill 2 Remake should end on October 8th, but it would be unusual for Konami to announce the Xbox version during the height of Silent Hill f’s launch campaign. It’s more likely that they’ll give it some space to announce it without losing the momentum that Silent Hill f will bring with its release.

Will Silent Hill 2 arrive on Xbox Series before the end of the year?

For now, both Konami and Bloober Team are keeping quiet about the end of this temporary exclusivity. It’s possible that they might announce the Xbox version, but not release it until 2026, which would be quite unusual, but we must remember to give Silent Hill f the space it needs.

Physical or digital release? One of the big unanswered questions is whether the game will be released physically or digitally. We haven’t seen Konami release a game exclusively in physical format for Xbox, as they usually release it alongside other versions, such as for PlayStation or Nintendo. So, it remains to be seen in what format it would be released on Xbox consoles… although there’s still a long way to go before we find out.
