The first hours of the release of Silent Hill 2 Remake on Xbox have made one thing clear: many players wanted to know how the highly anticipated return of the classic would perform on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. And we already have a pretty reliable idea of its technical behavior on both consoles.
- Series X offers two configurations: Quality Mode and Performance Mode, both with 4K output, but with variable internal resolution that can drop to levels close to 1080p or even lower. The important thing is the smoothness: in initial tests, Quality Mode stays stable at 30 FPS, while Performance Mode aims for 60 FPS with great consistency. For a multi-platform release with a demanding Unreal Engine 5, the result is positive.
- On Series S, the approach is simpler: a single graphics mode, with internal resolution that hovers around 831p before upscaling to 1080p. Despite this aggressive adjustment, the game maintains good visual clarity and, above all, a very stable framerate at 30 FPS, with no noticeable drops. There’s no option for 60 FPS, which is expected given the console’s power.
