SEGA has released an official statement apologizing for an issue that has affected Xbox Series players trying to take advantage of discounts to upgrade Yakuza games, including Yakuza 0: The Place of Oath Director’s Cut, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2. Although the discount was officially announced, the company confirms that there was a period when it was not applied correctly on Xbox Series and also displayed an incorrect price.
The situation has caused confusion among players who already owned the original versions and were looking to access the upgrade for Xbox Series, as promised. SEGA acknowledges the error and apologizes for the “inconvenience caused”, ensuring that they are actively working on adjusting the price.
SEGA Confirms Investigation and Promises to Apply Correct Discount
- In their official message, the Japanese company explains that the issue is being investigated and that the goal is to restore the correct discount for those who already had the games in their library. Once corrected, players will be able to access the reduced price as initially announced.
SEGA has also announced that they will release new information once the discount configuration is corrected, so they ask players to wait a little longer while the issue is resolved. A frustrating situation, especially for Yakuza saga fans who were looking to upgrade their games on Xbox Series, but it seems that it will be resolved soon.
