The next generation of Xbox consoles is taking shape within Microsoft’s hardware labs. During a recent visit from the program Good Morning America, Sarah Bond, Xbox president, offered an exclusive look at the facilities where the team is designing, prototyping, and testing the new hardware.
In the video, Bond explains that this space is where “the team really designs, creates prototypes, and tests the next generation of Xbox“, highlighting that it’s a restricted access area that rarely invites media or external visitors. The images show part of the engineering process behind the future consoles, reaffirming that Microsoft is firmly committed to its own hardware.
Microsoft moves forward with its new generation of Xbox consoles
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a sneak peek like this. In April, Phil Spencer also showed off the same lab during a tour with the program Today, where it was mentioned that “the next generation of Xbox was being created at that very moment”.
Although Microsoft has yet to reveal concrete details about the new consoles, rumors suggest that the company is working on a new line of hardware for 2026, along with a possible Xbox Elite Series 3 controller and other accessories.
For now, the message is clear: the future of Xbox is in active development. And if this new tour reveals anything, it’s that the team led by Sarah Bond and Phil Spencer remains committed to offering a new generation of consoles that are more powerful, efficient, and versatile for the coming years.
