Microsoft’s gaming division continues to look to the future with ambition. In an exclusive interview published by Mashable, its technology editor, Timothy Bech Werth, spoke with Sarah Bond, CEO of Xbox, about the launch of the ROG Xbox Ally X and the long-term plans for the next generation of consoles.
During the conversation, Bond made it clear that the Xbox team is already working on new desktop hardware, which she defined as a “very premium and high-end” experience. The executive assured that the company’s goal is to offer “the most advanced console we’ve ever created”, with a total focus on performance, immersion, and integration with the Xbox ecosystem.
A new generation that seeks to mark a technological leap
Bond explained that Microsoft’s next console will combine power and design to offer a seamless experience in all aspects, from local play to cloud gaming. Although she did not reveal specific details about specifications or release date, her statements confirm that the development of the new hardware is already underway.
Regarding the recently launched ROG Xbox Ally X, the executive highlighted its role as a “bridge between PC and console”, reinforcing Xbox’s vision of creating a flexible ecosystem that allows play anywhere. “We want each player to find their best way to enjoy Xbox”, Bond stated, emphasizing that the brand’s commitment remains to offer quality, performance, and freedom.
