It’s now official: the Rockstar Games Social Club has ceased to exist as a standalone platform. As of today, accessing the URL socialclub.rockstargames.com automatically redirects to Rockstar’s main website, confirming the definitive closure of the service as we knew it.
The Social Club was launched in 2008 and became the hub for online features in games like GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Max Payne 3 over the years. It allowed users to check statistics, manage crews, view Director Mode photos, and link platforms. Its disappearance marks the end of an era within the Rockstar ecosystem.
Farewell to the Social Club: a complete overhaul of the Rockstar ecosystem
Although Rockstar has yet to release an official statement explaining the reasons or the future of associated features, everything points to a gradual unification of services under their main website. This would include profiles, account settings, purchase history, and other user-related elements.
Over the past few weeks, some players had already noticed changes on the website, including the disappearance of classic sections and issues accessing social content. Now it’s confirmed that the service has been shut down, and the link no longer directs to the old platform.
It’s unclear whether this move is directly related to the upcoming release of GTA 6 in 2026, but all indications suggest that Rockstar is preparing its infrastructure for a more integrated and modern ecosystem. One thing is certain, though: the “Social Club” name is now a thing of the past.
