When it comes to video games, they are characterized by having all kinds of styles for each player, and I’m completely pleased that this is the case, to have a greater variety in each proposal and for the scope to be much more comprehensive.
That being said, there’s a series that I’ve enjoyed a lot over time, and it may not be to everyone’s liking. I’m referring to Just Dance, which returns every year with a new sequel to deliver new doses of fun.
After a long time gathering a good number of followers, including myself, it’s time to get ready to dance, have fun, and be free to the rhythm of the new themes that arrive in this edition, which will be grand.
Technical Section
The aesthetic of Just Dance remains immaculate, unchanged, and almost without changes. This is something that can play against it if you’re, like me, a player who follows the franchise in each new installment and doesn’t see palpable changes in this aspect.
Although my first words are forceful and without reservations, I can assure you that with them, I want to say that the game remains faithful to its style. It’s not that it needs much to surprise us, since what we want is to dance and not a technical display.
As usual, the menu and options are the same. It’s a base that remains, but let’s be honest, if what the game does in this aspect fulfills and works, it doesn’t make much sense to change drastically, and in that sense, it’s fine.
The strong point of the title is in its choreographies and in the songs it has to offer, making each new installment something completely different, despite having the same structure that changes little over time. In this way, let’s see the themes that arrive in this edition:

I know, when we see this list, we realize that there are no Latin American representatives. It’s not that in each installment there are many, but in this opportunity, they have disappeared. I understand that there are many genres and that English songs are always placed; however, before there was one or another appearance of a notable Latin artist.
Gameplay
Ubisoft has returned to bring a sequel to its known dance title. I’m referring to Just Dance 2026 Edition, which represents the perfect way to return to the dance floor with new additions, keep moving our bones, and get out of our comfort zone.
I’ve been able to play several installments and notice the changes in each one. I know, they’re small and almost imperceptible; in many cases, the gameplay mechanics are repeated, in which everything depends on the songs and the movement necessary to enjoy them.
As in previous installments, to play, it’s necessary to have a mobile device on which we must download the Just Dance Controller application from the store. In this way, and being on the same network as the console, we can link it so that the game detects the movements when shaking the device.
As happened in the previous installment of Just Dance, this new set of 40 songs offers the option to play with the device’s camera, avoiding the need to move our hands with the mobile. In this way, the game can detect our movements, making the session more fluid.
Unfortunately, this function can only be used with one person; that is, the same limitation as in its 2025 version remains. Which is understandable, since it can’t be easy to register the movements of more than one player.
As is known, the idea of the game is to select one of the many available songs and replicate the choreography as exactly as possible, to earn points and get a high score, with the aim of establishing records and competing with other people.
That being said, you have several alternatives to have fun: the option to burn calories and record them in your sessions, something that will help you stay healthier with movement. On the other hand, you have solo or accompanied challenges, to beat or leave a record.
If you’re with friends or family and want to share, you have the Party option, ideal for having a great time and in a different way. Either way, the fun is guaranteed, and in that, Just Dance 2026 Edition knows what it’s doing.
It’s true that we have a total of 40 songs, but there’s Just+, a subscription that allows you to add more than 300 themes to dance even more. Unfortunately, it’s paid, but there are always players who love to have more songs, and this option is a great way to achieve it.
Duration
Each new installment of Just Dance is a way to connect with its followers. This is achieved with a good number of songs, although it’s no surprise that the list is limited to just 40 of them. I think it’s few, since not all of them manage to hook you.
That being said, the game fulfills everything it offers: many hours of fun, despite the fact that the variety could be greater. It’s always good to exercise and move; it’s a way to get out of that zone where we usually stay as players.
In summary, the hours will be countless, and everything will depend on how much you want to keep dancing. Its modes, challenges, and party mode are a great incentive to burn calories, have fun, and have a good time in a healthy and safe way from home.
Conclusion
Each new installment of Just Dance seems to be more of the same, and in fact, it is. But you shouldn’t look at it as something negative if you really enjoy this type of game, which for many (like this writer) is a way to get out of the routine, share with friends or family, and have a different moment playing.
Just Dance 2026 Edition returns to conquer us with a sequel that is continuist, but knows how to offer us the necessary doses that we long for, those of us who enjoy this type of experience. It’s not about being conformists; if the formula works, then it doesn’t make sense to change it.
If you’re new to this type of game, you’ll have a great time. On the other hand, if you’re a veteran, you already know what to expect: a new set of themes and the opportunity to share alone or accompanied. A title that promotes movement and invites us to get out of our comfort zone, essential for those gatherings with friends or family.
