Capcom has discreetly updated the game’s page on the Xbox Store, but the change is significant for many players. As of today, Resident Evil Village is now compatible with Xbox Play Anywhere, meaning a single digital purchase grants access to both the console and PC versions.
Until now, players who wanted to play on both systems had to purchase separate versions. With this update, the title officially joins the Xbox Play Anywhere program, allowing players to download and play on Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC with Windows without paying twice.
Resident Evil Village updated on Xbox Store with Play Anywhere
The change is already reflected in the Microsoft Store, where Resident Evil Village is listed with full support for both console and PC, including shared progress, synchronized achievements, and the freedom to switch between platforms as desired. Additionally, remember that the game will arrive on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate by the end of the month, making this a logical move within Microsoft’s new ecosystem.
For those who already owned the game digitally, there’s no need to buy anything new: the PC version is automatically added to the library. For new buyers, the advantage is clear, as this is one of the most important installments in the series in recent years, and now offers greater flexibility within the Xbox ecosystem.
A move that reinforces the value of the digital catalog and fits particularly well with Game Pass PC users, hybrid players, or those who frequently switch between console and computer.
