The development diary of the new Resident Evil, available on the Capcom website, provided an interesting insight into the game’s initial concept. Koshi Nakanishi, director of Requiem, shared the first sketches of the game and admitted that the project, as it was, was abandoned because it wasn’t what the fans wanted.
Various insiders have spoken on different occasions about rumors that referenced a Resident Evil online game that had taken its first steps in 2017, with Leon and Jill as protagonists. The project continued internally until 2021, the year Resident Evil Village was released.
The certainty of change
According to Capcom, Resident Evil Requiem will be a significant change in the franchise and will feature Grace Ashcroft, the daughter of Alyssa from Resident Evil Outbreak, as the main character. As an FBI agent, she is investigating what happened in Raccoon City after the events of Resident Evil 3.

Based on what was presented at The Game Awards, the title will retain that gloomy and sinister atmosphere characteristic of the franchise. The developer itself has confirmed that the game will arrive on February 27th of next year, until then, details will be released in many waves.
