The recent Showcase of Resident Evil Requiem left many interesting details, but one of the most questioned by players has to do with the level of difficulty. Capcom has already clarified what options will be available when starting a new game, something especially relevant in a game that bets on differentiated play styles depending on the chosen character.
From the very beginning, players will be able to adjust the experience to their liking, whether they want to progress without too many barriers or prefer a more demanding proposal and faithful to the classic tradition of the saga.
Available difficulties in Resident Evil Requiem
Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil Requiem will have three levels of difficulty from the start, each designed for a specific type of player:
-
Casual
Designed for those who want to focus on the story and atmosphere. Enemies are less aggressive and resources are more abundant, allowing progress without major complications. -
Standard (Modern)
This is the recommended option by the developers for a first playthrough. It offers a balance between tension and control, with a free save system that allows saving progress at any time. -
Standard (Classic)
Maintains the same level of challenge as the Standard mode, but recovers the limited save system, forcing players to use specific items to save the game, in the style of the older Resident Evil games.
Although these are the only confirmed options for the start of the game, everything suggests that there will be at least one additional unlockable difficulty after completing the story, following the usual line of the saga. Capcom has not yet provided details about this possible extra mode, but its inclusion seems more than likely.
