Remedy kicks off 2026 with a strategic move. The Finnish studio, responsible for some of the most recognizable IPs in the current landscape, has confirmed a major change in its leadership, a decision that directly points to the company’s medium and long-term future.
After a 2025 marked by ambitious statements and an increasingly clear roadmap, Remedy is now entering a new phase with the goal of strengthening its position in the industry and gaining greater control over its own releases.
Jean-Charles Gaudechon will be Remedy’s new CEO starting in March
According to Remedy Entertainment’s official statement for investors, Jean-Charles Gaudechon will take over as CEO on March 1, 2026. Until then, Markus Mäki, co-founder of the studio, will continue to serve as interim CEO throughout February to ensure a smooth transition.
Gaudechon has an extensive background in the industry, having held key positions at companies like Electronic Arts and CCP Games, an experience that Remedy considers crucial to tackling the studio’s upcoming challenges. The board of directors has emphasized that this appointment aims to significantly accelerate the company’s growth and move towards greater independence in publishing its own games.
This change comes after internal figures like Kyle Rowley, director of Alan Wake 2, publicly expressed their ambition to turn Remedy into a European reference for high-level game development. With the arrival of a new CEO, the studio seems determined to take a firm step in that direction and redefine its role within the industry in the coming years.
