Following its release on Xbox Game Pass last June, Rematch officially kicks off its Season 1 with a package of new features designed to give its community a fresh boost. These include the introduction of competitive 3v3 mode, the long-awaited crossplay functionality, and general gameplay improvements. Additionally, the title is currently available with a 20% discount on the Xbox Store, and a free trial is coming soon for non-Game Pass subscribers.
Rematch Season 1: All the New Features
The major addition is ranked 3v3 mode, which allows you to team up with two friends and compete against players from around the world in competitive matches. Cross-platform play has also finally been added, a feature that was planned from launch but suffered technical delays.
The developers have also included:
-
New cosmetics and customization options.
-
Tweaks to player movement, with more precise and responsive controls.
-
More effective goalkeepers against volley shots.
-
Stricter skill-based matchmaking parameters.
-
Elimination of certain exploits, such as the infamous “Ippy Slide”.
With these changes, Rematch aims to offer a more balanced and competitive experience for Xbox Game Pass users and players on other platforms.
Discounts, Free Trial, and Future Plans
Those without access via Game Pass can purchase the game with a 20% discount on the Xbox Store, while a free trial is expected to arrive in the coming days, allowing players to try the title at no cost.
The studio has also shared its roadmap for updates:
-
October: significant changes to the ranking system, with league demotions and dynamic points to better reflect each player’s true level.
-
Later in the season: a new game mode that has yet to be detailed.
-
Season 2 (2026): the addition of a 1v1 mode, along with a club system, tournaments, themed World Cup events, and more.
With these new features, the team promises to continue strengthening the game’s core gameplay and netcode, two essential aspects of a competitive online title.
