24 hours after its release, many Xbox players are still waiting to receive the free version of Red Dead Redemption on Xbox.

The release of the new version of Red Dead Redemption for Xbox Series has been a disaster. Since its announcement last November, nothing suggested that its arrival would be so complicated, basically when it was announced that those who had the previous game in digital format could update for free to the new version. The truth is, it’s not an update, it’s a new game and 24 hours after its release, many players are still unable to download the new game on Xbox for free.

In other countries, it seems that Rockstar has taken more action and has started delivering a special offer “Just for you” with the new edition of the game, with a 100% discount, but at least in Spain, except for a few exceptions, many players (including me) are still waiting for the problem to be solved.

Obviously, before writing these lines, I’ve tried all possible methods to get the game, but always with the same result, it asks me to pay €24.99 to get it, something I’m not willing to do, especially after having the digital version since 2020 and the physical version since 2010.

Both Rockstar and Microsoft are aware of the issue and, as I mentioned earlier, in other countries and progressively, they seem to be solving the problem, although I think that 24 hours after its release, there are more players outside the free update than inside. We’ll see how the next few hours unfold, normally, if you had the digital edition of the game, at some point, it should appear for you to claim it, although, as I said, in my particular case, 24 hours later, I’m still unable to do so.
