Just days before the start of Gamescom 2025, the studio HK Hero Entertainment has decided to get ahead of the game by unveiling CrisisX, a new free-to-play title that combines open-world survival with shooting, zombies, and massive multiplayer gameplay. On paper, it sounds spectacular, but part of the community has already expressed some skepticism.
The game has been introduced with a video showcasing combat, natural environments, and action scenes in a map that, according to its creators, will reach 1,200 square kilometers with up to 5,000 players connected in the same lobby. An ambition that bears a striking resemblance to the failed The Day Before, which has inevitably led to comparisons.
CrisisX: The Next Revolution in the Genre or a Mirage?
Although the revealed images show a promising project, many players are wondering if CrisisX will be able to deliver on its promises or will end up following in the footsteps of other overly ambitious games. It’s also unclear if this title is related to the mobile game of the same name, which could potentially lead to legal issues in the future.
In terms of playable references, CrisisX seems to draw inspiration from games like DayZ, The Division, or even the attention to detail of Red Dead Redemption 2. For now, the only confirmed information is that its release is scheduled for 2026 on PC, iOS, and Android, and that it will be free from day one.
