It’s now official. Phantom Blade Zero will be a temporary exclusive to PlayStation 5 on consoles and won’t arrive on Xbox until the exclusivity period ends. The information has been clearly confirmed: the title will have 12 months of exclusivity on PS5, although it will also be available on PC from its release. We’re looking at a game similar to Silent Hill 2 Remake, which, 12 months after its release on PlayStation 5, landed on Xbox.
The game also has a release date set for September 9, 2026, which makes it clear what the approximate calendar will be for its arrival on other consoles once the agreement with Sony is over, it would be in September 2027.
Phantom Blade Zero will be a console exclusive on PS5 for a year
In the official material, it’s specified that Phantom Blade Zero is a “console exclusive” for PlayStation, accompanied by the usual legal notice that confirms it won’t be available on other consoles until at least 12 months after its release. This puts the Xbox version, at the earliest, in late 2027, as long as there are no changes to the agreement.
Developed with a strong focus on melee combat, the game has sparked a lot of interest since its presentation due to its visual style, setting, and fast and technical combat system. Although Sony secures temporary exclusivity on consoles, Xbox isn’t left out, it just has to wait.
For now, Xbox players will have to be patient, but the official confirmation clears up doubts: Phantom Blade Zero will arrive on Xbox, although it will do so later after its initial run on PlayStation 5.
