Following confirmation that Crimson Desert will utilize Denuvo in its launch version, many players began to express concern on social media about the potential impact this anti-piracy system could have on the game’s performance.
In response to these concerns, Pearl Abyss has sought to clarify the situation and assure that performance should not be affected.
Current tests already use Denuvo
According to a studio spokesperson speaking to Forbes’ Paul Tassi, the recent technical tests have already been conducted with the same version of Denuvo that will be present in the final game.
This includes the performance analyses and benchmarks that have appeared in recent days, as well as the recent technical video published by Digital Foundry.
“The benchmarks and performance analyses we’ve shown were conducted with the same version of Denuvo that will be included in the launch build.”
The studio also explained that their intention was for the tests conducted by media and analysts to reflect as accurately as possible the experience players will have at launch. Crimson Desert, the highly anticipated open-world action RPG from Pearl Abyss, is set to launch on March 19th for Xbox Series, PC, and other platforms.
