Square Enix has surprisingly released Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster on Xbox Series and Xbox PC, expanding the available platforms for one of the most beloved JRPGs of recent years. The game is now available in digital format and also features Xbox Play Anywhere compatibility, allowing players to enjoy it on both console and PC with a single purchase.
This new version includes improved graphics, quality-of-life adjustments, and new minigames, as well as being optimized to run on portable devices like the ROG Xbox Ally.
A Classic JRPG Returns to Xbox
The original title was released in 2012 for Nintendo 3DS and marked the beginning of the Bravely series, a franchise that has sold over four million copies worldwide over the years.
The story follows Tiz, Agnès, Edea, and Ringabel, four characters who embark on a journey to close a massive rift threatening the world and restore balance to the elemental crystals. As the adventure unfolds, they will discover that the mission is more complex than it initially seemed.
One of the most memorable elements of the game is its Brave & Default combat system, which introduces a strategic mechanic to the turns, allowing players to accumulate or spend actions to perform multiple attacks in a single turn.
This remaster also reclaims the game’s original Japanese title, Bravely Default Flying Fairy, and adapts it for current consoles with a revamped visual aspect.
