The Xbox community continues to bring forth useful ideas to enhance the gaming experience. Some of these ideas don’t require major developments or new features, but rather small adjustments that could make a big difference in the daily life of gamers.
This time, the conversation revolves around two very specific proposals that many users have been asking for: a manual control for Quick Resume and new visibility options for the friends list. Both suggestions could refine the overall user experience on Xbox Series and strengthen the flexibility of its current system.
Options to Enable or Disable Quick Resume
The Quick Resume feature is one of the best ideas introduced by Xbox since the launch of Series X and Series S, allowing players to resume a game exactly where they left off. However, in online matches, it can cause connection problems or errors when reconnecting to servers. There have even been cases of lost achievements.
Many players are demanding an option to disable Quick Resume for specific games, without having to close them manually each time. This way, each user could decide when to take advantage of this feature and when to prefer a clean start, especially in titles with permanent connections.
More Control Over Friend Visibility
Another point raised by the community is the lack of flexibility in online status visibility. Currently, there are only two options: appear online to everyone or be completely disconnected. For those who want to relax and play without interruptions, but without disappearing altogether, this can be limiting.
The idea would be to allow showing the “online” status only to a small group of friends, similar to what platforms like Steam or Discord offer. This would enable players to enjoy more peaceful sessions without giving up contact with their closest circle.
As you can see, it’s not about major changes, but rather simple adjustments that would significantly improve comfort and personalization on Xbox. Sometimes, the smallest details are the ones that have the most impact on the daily gaming experience.
