Since its release on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC, The Elder Scrolls fans have been eagerly asking about the physical edition of the game. And it’s no wonder: we’re talking about a classic that, with its remastered version, still evokes nostalgia in an entire generation of gamers. However, the road to getting to this point has not been without doubts and confusion.
In July, The Game Collection in the UK started taking pre-orders for a supposed Deluxe Edition physical copy scheduled for October. Shortly after, Micromania in France published product listings that disappeared almost immediately. And, more recently, some buyers received emails from Play-Asia talking about a simple Code in a Box, meaning a box without a disc and with a download code inside.
Oblivion Remastered Physical Edition for Xbox and PS5
The latest information, closely followed in forums and communities like Dead Labs, suggests that:
- On PS5, there will be a physical disc inside the box, accompanied by a code to upgrade to the Deluxe Edition.
- On Xbox Series, there is still uncertainty: stores are listing it, but it’s not confirmed whether it will include a disc or if it will be a Code in a Box.
- Pre-orders will officially start at the end of September, with a release scheduled for October.
- The Deluxe Edition will add extra content compared to the base version, although Bethesda has not yet detailed everything it will include.
The Xbox Community Waits with Bated Breath
In a context where more and more games are opting for digital, the possibility that the Xbox edition won’t include a disc has sparked debate. Many players feel that after months of waiting, a simple code in a box doesn’t meet their expectations for a physical edition.
Meanwhile, in communities like Dead Labs, users have been speculating and sharing leaks about the upcoming release. The common desire is clear: to have the opportunity to add Oblivion Remastered on disc to their Xbox collection, just like on PS5.
The only thing that’s certain for now is that the Deluxe Edition will start taking pre-orders at the end of September, and October will be the month when we’ll finally see this long-awaited physical version arrive, although we’ll have to wait for Bethesda to confirm the final details for Xbox players.
