The universe of No Man’s Sky is expanding once again. Remnant, the new major update for the space exploration game, is now available for free to Xbox players and Game Pass subscribers, kicking off the game’s tenth anniversary.
Following a content-packed 2025, Hello Games is starting the new year with one of the most requested features by the community since the game’s original launch: a fully functional gravity gun.
Remnant adds the Gravitino Coil and new improvements for the Colossus
The biggest new feature in No Man’s Sky is the Gravitino Coil, a new module for the multi-tool that allows players to attract heavy objects from a distance and use them as projectiles. It can be used for both practical purposes and in combat, launching industrial debris at Sentinels or even using weaker enemies as improvised weapons.
Beyond its offensive capabilities, its primary use is utilitarian: facilitating the cleanup of industrial waste and toxic materials on contaminated planets. Many of these waste materials can be transported and sold on worlds specialized in processing, turning what seemed like junk into valuable resources.
- The update also introduces new blueprints to customize the Colossus, the large exocraft. It can now be equipped with a rear tilting platform for transporting heavy loads, as well as new movement systems like treads or mechanical legs. Aesthetically, customization options have been expanded so that each vehicle can have its own unique identity.
Remnant also includes a special event that invites players to participate in a massive intergalactic cleanup operation, gathering convoys of exocrafts and explorers equipped with the Gravitino Coil. With this free update, Hello Games demonstrates that, ten years on, No Man’s Sky is still evolving with significant changes within its procedural universe.
