The story of No Man’s Sky is one of the most surprising in the industry. What started with a controversial launch has become a benchmark for free content and consistency. Now, Sean Murray, founder of Hello Games, has once again sparked excitement with a series of posts that many fans interpret as a sign of a new free expansion on the way.

The British creative has published on social media several door emojis, something his followers have learned to decipher over the years. Each time a new symbol appears, it usually anticipates a major update for the game, normally accompanied by new mechanics, biomes, or galactic systems.

A new expansion could be close to being announced

This time, the signs point to a new free patch that would follow in the footsteps of Voyagers, the latest major expansion released just a few weeks ago. Although Murray has not confirmed anything officially, his communication pattern coincides with those prior to other important updates such as Endurance, Interceptor, or Echoes.

Meanwhile, Hello Games continues to work on Light No Fire, its ambitious project that combines exploration, survival, and fantasy in an interactive world “larger than Earth“, according to Murray himself. However, the studio has demonstrated on numerous occasions that it knows how to handle two projects in parallel, which gives even more weight to the possibility that No Man’s Sky will soon receive a new expansion to continue expanding its infinite universe.
