After months of debate on social media and mixed reviews, the Ninja Theory team has made their latest financial results public. And the truth is, the numbers leave no room for doubt: Hellblade 2 has contributed to improving the studio’s health.
Although its reception on platforms like Steam was modest and there were doubts about its commercial performance, the internal report shows a clear increase in profits. Additionally, the team has already started its next project, which reinforces Microsoft’s confidence in the studio.
Ninja Theory grows after the release of Hellblade 2
According to the company’s latest financial report, Hellblade 2 has been considered a success by its leaders. The British studio increased its gross and operating profits during the past year, and has seen its staff grow slightly, from 106 to 108 employees. In a context where many studios are facing layoffs, these numbers speak for themselves.
- Furthermore, the game continues to generate revenue through Game Pass, digital sales, and soon also on PS5. The release on Sony’s console is confirmed for August, and is expected to contribute to expanding its player base and international impact even further.
- In parallel, the team is already working on Project Mara, an experimental psychological horror proposal that has been approved by Microsoft and aims to explore new narrative formats from a more intimate and realistic approach.
With this outlook, Ninja Theory consolidates its position as one of the most stable European studios within the Xbox ecosystem. The moderate, yet sustained success of Hellblade 2, along with renewed confidence in its creative vision, ensures its continuity in an increasingly demanding industry.
