With no official announcement from Valve, leaks continue to set the pace around the Steam Machine. On this occasion, a brief video has begun circulating on social media, showing what would be the device’s startup screen, offering the first real glimpse of its boot process and visual identity.
The information arrives at a crucial moment, with growing rumors about its price and positioning in the PC market. Although Valve has not confirmed dates or figures, this new material fuels the idea that the full announcement could be closer than expected.
This is what the Steam Machine startup screen would look like, according to the leak
The video was shared by Brad Lynch on X, and according to the leaker himself, the file would have been extracted directly from the Steam database. The images show a boot process very similar to that of the Steam Deck, with the device’s logo on the screen and a clean, uncluttered presentation.
- However, everything suggests that this is not a final version. The clip lacks audio, and some visual details seem provisional, reinforcing the idea that we are dealing with an internal development resource. If Valve follows the same strategy as with the Steam Deck, this initial screen could be the default, but customizable with themes that can be redeemed with Steam points, something already common in the company’s ecosystem.
For now, Valve remains silent, limiting itself to recalling in recent statements that the price of the Steam Machine will be aligned with the PC market, a statement that has generated debate about the possible impact of hardware costs, especially RAM. Meanwhile, this leak serves to outline what the experience will be like from the first second of turning on Valve’s new machine.
