EA Sports has announced a new patch for EA Sports FC 26 that will start rolling out soon on consoles and PC, focusing on tweaking various gameplay aspects that had generated complaints among players since the last major patch.
This update introduces improvements to goalkeeper logic, attacker runs, and the effectiveness of crosses and corners, as well as reducing the advantage of the AI-controlled defensive system.
A step closer to gameplay balance in EA Sports FC 26
These changes aim to balance the competitive experience in Ultimate Team and Seasons, two modes where the community had reported situations of unfair advantage, especially in automatic defenses and strategic plays. The update also fixes animations and minor adjustments to ball physics, with the goal of offering a more fluid and natural gameplay rhythm.
Additionally, the patch improves attacker runs inside the box, solves the issue that prevented wingers from making runs into space, adjusts goalkeeper logic to react better in one-on-one situations, and reduces the effectiveness of short corners, a strategy that had become dominant online.
The most significant changes are:
-
Reduced aggression in AI-controlled marking.
-
Nerf to volley shots after rainbow flicks (Rainbow Volley) (also known as “la baptintinha” among friends)
-
Improved runs inside the box.
-
Fix for the issue that prevented wingers from making runs into space.
-
Adjustments to goalkeeper logic for more coherent reactions.
-
Reduced effectiveness of short corners.
EA has not specified the exact release date for the global rollout, but the patch is already available on Xbox Series and PC, and will arrive throughout the week on Xbox One and PlayStation versions.
