After months of waiting, we finally have an official release date for one of the most anticipated strategy and survival games on console. The sequel to the successful Frostpunk will arrive on Xbox Series on September 18, 2025, and it will come with full support for controllers and specific improvements to its interface.

Additionally, 11 bit studios has confirmed that the game will be available from day one on Xbox Game Pass, making it one of the most powerful releases for the service in September.

This second installment takes place 30 years after the end of the first game. The city of New London is fighting for its survival in a world that is even colder, more hostile, and marked by internal conflicts. This time, in addition to managing resources and the population’s morale, the player will have to deal with political, ideological, and social decisions that will shape the city’s destiny.

On Xbox Series, Frostpunk 2 will offer an optimized interface for controllers and quick access to the game’s key actions. All control systems have been adapted to the console experience without losing depth or precision.

If that’s not enough, the release will be accompanied by two special physical editions:

• Icebreaker Edition: includes the base game, a foldable diorama, artbook, and a short novel.

• Whiteout Edition: includes a special shadow box and the Deluxe edition with access to three future DLCs.

Frostpunk 2 will be available to play on Xbox Series from September 18, 2025 and will be included in Xbox Game Pass from day one. A must-have for fans of strategy games with tough decisions and a harsh world as a backdrop.
