Microsoft continues to fine-tune its star service to keep it at the top. As of today, Xbox Insider program members can test significant new features in Xbox Game Pass, designed to offer more freedom when enjoying games on any device.
The most notable feature is that Game Pass Core and Standard subscribers will, for the first time, be able to access cloud gaming, not just with titles included in their plan, but also with some they already own. This will allow them to start playing games from consoles, PCs, mobile devices, or even compatible TVs without needing to download anything.
More PC games and new streaming options
The company has also confirmed that Core and Standard subscribers will be able to try PC game versions included in their plans for the first time, a move that further expands the available options. Simply logging into the Xbox app for PC and checking the Game Pass tab will be enough to see which titles are part of the catalog.
New features coming to Xbox Game Pass
- Streaming gameplay on compatible devices, both from the browser at xbox.com/play and on TVs with the Xbox app.
- Expanding access to PC games, even with the most basic plans.
- More multi-platform options, thanks to cloud gaming and shared progression.
With this move, Xbox reaffirms its strategy of making its games available on as many screens as possible, regardless of the platform.
When can I try it out?
These tests are already available for Insider members, while the rest of the players will have to wait for the features to arrive in future service updates. And, as always, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will continue to have the most comprehensive plan, with access to console, PC, cloud, EA Play, and day-one releases.
