In the world of sports games, it’s not uncommon to find users who allocate part of their budget to microtransactions. But what a player of NBA 2K25 has done has left the entire community speechless.
The protagonist of this story is 2KOG, a well-known content creator who, during a live stream, showed the purchase history of his PlayStation account. Between March 31 and August 5, 2025, each of those transactions corresponded to purchases of Virtual Currency (VC), the game’s internal currency with which you can open packages in the popular MyTEAM mode.

After doing the math, the viewers of his live stream discovered that the total amount is $32,831.68, all in just four months. The amount has generated intense debate on social media about the monetization model of the 2K saga and how easily a player can spend thousands of dollars to improve their virtual team.
The story has made waves not only because of the amount but also because of how naturally 2KOG showed the information. For him, it’s an investment in his content and gaming experience, although for most people, it’s a sum that’s hard to justify.
