It’s hard to believe, but not long ago, in May of this year, we told you that Microsoft had laid off the equivalent of 3% of its workforce, which means more than 6,000 people lost their jobs. The reason for this move was attributed to “organizational changes necessary for the company to position itself better.” Despite the terrible measure, it seems that the number of layoffs will increase very soon.

A report from Bloomberg indicates that Microsoft will continue with the layoffs in the coming weeks, a period in which the company’s fiscal year comes to an end.

Bad news for employees

Currently, the number of employees at the company is around 228,000 souls, a figure that dates back a year and may not be entirely accurate at this time. However, the number of employees could decrease again if the data presented becomes a reality.

If so, this would be the third wave of layoffs for those in Redmond that has already contributed to the chaos in the technology industry in a market that is increasingly saturated and in direct competition with cheaper and less professional options like AI.
