Microsoft is heavily investing in artificial intelligence and is now preparing for the arrival of Gaming Copilot on Xbox consoles. The company confirmed during the GDC 2026 that this AI-based tool will be available on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S by the end of this year.
The announcement was made during one of the panels for developers, where Sonali Yadav, product manager for Xbox’s AI gaming partners, explained that the technology will continue to expand to more platforms within the Xbox ecosystem.
I’m excited to announce that we’ll be bringing Gaming Copilot to next-generation consoles by the end of this year and will continue to implement it in more services used by gamers.
What is Gaming Copilot and what’s its purpose?
Gaming Copilot is an artificial intelligence designed specifically to assist gamers while they play. This tool is already available on smartphones and Windows devices through the Xbox app.
Among its main features are:
-
Offering tips to progress in a game when the player gets stuck.
-
Suggesting system settings or adjustments to improve the experience.
-
Recommending new games based on the user’s preferences.
-
Providing contextual information while playing.
The technology can also be integrated into portable Windows devices like the ROG Ally, where experimentation with this type of intelligent assistance has already begun.
AI will also be part of Xbox’s future
The announcement of Gaming Copilot comes at a time when Microsoft is showcasing its vision for the future of the Xbox ecosystem, with projects like Project Helix and new tools for developers.
Everything points to artificial intelligence playing an increasingly important role in the gaming experience, from game development to the way players interact with them.
