Microsoft has reiterated that Gears of War: E-Day and Halo Campaign Evolved are still on track to launch in 2026, reaffirming the release window that had already been indicated for both titles. The confirmation comes through a recent update published on Xbox Wire, where the company reviewed some of the most anticipated projects in its catalog.
Although both games were already announced for this year, the message serves to reconfirm that the release schedule has not changed and that they are still part of Microsoft’s plans for 2026.
Two of Xbox’s most important sagas return this year
Halo Campaign Evolved is a remake of the classic Halo: Combat Evolved, the game that started the saga starring Master Chief. This new version will modernize the original title with updated graphics, renewed animations, and additional content, expanding some elements of the game’s original story.
On the other hand, Gears of War: E-Day will be a prequel set before the first Gears of War. The story takes place 14 years before the events of the original game and will show the so-called Emergence Day, the moment when humanity suffers its first major attack by the Locust Horde.
The project is being developed by The Coalition and since its announcement, it has been presented as one of the most ambitious developments in the saga.
For now, Microsoft has not announced specific release dates for either of the two titles, but the company has made it clear that both Halo Campaign Evolved and Gears of War: E-Day are still slated to arrive in 2026.
