Following its official announcement in the latest State of Play, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is now showing its hand on PC. Konami has updated the game’s Steam page and confirmed the minimum and recommended requirements, making it clear that this collection won’t be particularly lightweight in terms of memory.
Although it will also arrive on Xbox Series consoles, on PC, the Japanese company has set specific conditions that grab attention, especially the requirement to use Windows 11 and have 16 GB of RAM in any configuration.
Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 PC Requirements
According to the information published on Steam, both Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker within the collection share the following specifications:
Minimum Requirements
-
Operating System: Windows 11 (64-bit)
-
Processor: Intel Core i5-9600K
-
RAM: 16 GB
-
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
-
Storage: SSD recommended
Recommended Requirements
-
Operating System: Windows 11 (64-bit)
-
Processor: Intel Core i5-10500
-
RAM: 16 GB
-
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
-
Storage: SSD required
Notably, 16 GB of RAM is mandatory for both minimum and recommended requirements, which is unusual for re-releases of titles originally designed for previous generations. The requirement for Windows 11 as the only compatible operating system is also surprising.
For now, there are no specific equivalencies detailed for AMD hardware, so it’s possible that the technical specifications will be updated before the release. The collection is set to launch on August 28th for PC and Xbox Series, finally allowing fans to enjoy this key chapter in the saga on current systems.
